Brazilian Lympathic Drainage

The lymphatic system is responsible for eliminating excess fluid and waste from tissues and organs. This system is composed of a network of lymphatic vessels and capillaries that drain this excess, called lymph, and carry it to the bloodstream.

Any dysfunction in the functioning of this system causes an imbalance in the elimination of excess fluid, causing it to accumulate in the interstitial tissue, resulting in oedema, giving the region a swollen and shiny appearance.

This build-up can happen on the body or face. This technique is capable of helping the body to eliminate excess fluids and toxins, which, due to some imbalance in the lymphatic system, have accumulated in the body.

How Does MLD Works?

Body lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a gentle and effective technique. The practitioner uses light, rhythmic touch to stimulate the lymphatic vessels. They follow specific pathways along the body, focusing on areas where lymphatic flow may be sluggish or blocked.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage involves gentle strokes, circular movements, and pumping actions. The practitioner’s hands move in the direction of lymphatic flow, encouraging fluid movement toward the lymph nodes. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle and supportive therapy that encourages your body’s natural healing processes.

Duration and Frequency:

    • A typical session lasts around 60 minutes.
    • For specific conditions (such as post-surgery recovery, lymphedema), a series of sessions may be recommended.
