REIKI
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese spiritual healing or complementary therapy relating to energy healing.
It works with the energy fields around the body and involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to the client.
The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy.
This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication.
How the Reiki treatment works?
The recipient remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas.
What do Reiki treatments feel like?
Benefits reported by recipients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing on all levels. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colours, whilst others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.
